A Academia de Cinema divulgou a lista completa de filmes elegíveis para as categorias de animação, documentário e longa-metragem internacional da 98ª edição do Oscar, embora alguns títulos ainda não tenham sido lançados dentro do prazo estipulado e precisem cumprir esse requisito até o final do ano para atender às regras da premiação. Na lista do Oscar 2026, figuram os filmes brasileiros 'O agente secreto', de Kleber Mendonça Filho, e 'Apocalipse nos trópicos', de Petra Costa.

'O agente secreto':

'Grupo da morte' no Oscar 2026:

A categoria de longa-metragem de animação inclui 35 títulos elegíveis. Os membros do ramo de animação da Academia já podem votar para escolher os cinco indicados. Outros membros de fora do ramo foram convidados a votar após cumprirem um requisito mínimo de visualização.

Entre as três categorias, a de documentário foi a que recebeu o maior número de inscrições válidas, com 201 títulos em consideração. Os membros da área de documentários votarão para definir uma lista restrita de 15 longas-metragens, que será anunciada em 16 de dezembro. Essa lista menor será então reduzida a cinco indicados.

Na briga por uma estatueta, "Apocalipse dos trópicos' enfrenta o forte concorrente "A vizinha perfeita", sobre um crime real. O filme de Geeta Gandbhir já venceu o Critics Choice Documentary Awards em cinco categorias, incluindo Melhor Documentário, o que o posiciona como um dos favoritos na corrida pelo Oscar.

'A vizinha perfeita' é real?

A categoria de longa-metragem internacional recebeu 86 inscrições elegíveis de países ou regiões de todo o mundo. A Academia define um longa-metragem internacional como um filme de longa duração (mais de 40 minutos) produzido fora dos EUA com diálogos predominantemente em um idioma que não seja o inglês. Os membros da Academia de todos os ramos podem votar na rodada preliminar, desde que atendam ao requisito mínimo de visualização para a categoria. Assim como na categoria de documentário, uma lista com 15 títulos será anunciada em 16 de dezembro.

Outras indicações ao Oscar 2026, como a que pode incluir Wagner Moura na briga pelo prêmio de Melhor Ator por 'O agente secreto', serão anunciadas no dia 22 de janeiro de 2026. A cerimônia de premiação acontecerá em 15 de março de 2026.
